Its commitments are structured around several priorities: tackling climate change, preserving biodiversity, promoting more sustainable logistics, protecting and training its staff members, encouraging diversity, and supporting local communities.

CMA CGM has set the goal of achieving Net Zero Carbon by 2050 across all its activities.
To reach this target, the Group follows an emissions reduction pathway with intermediate milestones for its maritime activities by 2030 (-30%) and 2040 (-80%) compared with 2008 levels.

Yes, the CMA CGM Group is investing heavily in a fleet capable of using alternative energies such as LNG, biofuels, and eventually new low-carbon fuels (biomethane, e-methane, methanol, etc.).
These solutions complement energy-efficiency efforts both on board vessels and onshore, in order to reduce the carbon footprint of maritime transport.

LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) is an alternative fuel that significantly reduces emissions of sulfur, fine particles, and nitrogen oxides compared with traditional heavy fuel oil, while also lowering CO₂ emissions.
CMA CGM has been a pioneer in deploying large container ships powered by LNG, as this technology represents an important step toward the use of renewable gases (bio-/e-methane) and the progressive decarbonization of its fleet.
