On May 27, La Provence organized an event dedicated to philanthropy in the service of public interest. During the event, Tanya Saadé Zeenny, President of the CMA CGM Foundation, delivered a message calling for collective mobilization among the present Foundations to address the growing food emergency in the region.

As food insecurity continues to rise in Marseille, the Food Bank of Bouches-du-Rhône is experiencing a severe shortage of supplies. In 2019, the association provided support to 300 young people each week. Today, over 3,000 students experience food insecurity each week.

Long-standing partner of the Food Banks network, the CMA CGM Foundation is answering the call for support. As part of the exceptional food drive taking place on Friday, May 29 and Saturday, May 30, the Foundation is committed to:

  • purchasing essential food supplies;
  • transporting donations by leveraging the CMA CGM Group’s logistics expertise;
  • mobilizing Group employees alongside volunteers on the ground.

In addition, starting from the new school year in September, the CMA CGM Foundation will support the school breakfast initiative for children in Marseille’s priority neighborhoods, implemented by the City of Marseille and the Noailles-Belsunce neighborhood association.

Because children cannot learn on an empty stomach, this initiative aims to provide them with the essential conditions to start their day well, stay focused, and learn.

Through these actions, the CMA CGM Foundation reaffirms its commitment to supporting high-impact local initiatives built on cooperation between non-profit organizations, public institutions, and private-sector partners.
