Fútbol con Corazón and the CMA CGM Foundation join forces to empower Colombia's youth through football

On Saturday, July 11, the CMA CGM Foundation and Fútbol con Corazón officially announced their partnership through a football match bringing together 200 children from Nueva Colonia. The event was held in the presence of Lionel ODEYER, General Manager of CMA CGM Colombia, Carlos PEREZ, Chief Executive of Fútbol con Corazón Colombia and the Mayor of the city.

This first partnership led by the CMA CGM Foundation in Colombia highlights the power of football and sport to bring people together and create new opportunities for young people.

A new sports field to support young people and the local community in Nueva Colonia

With the support of the CMA CGM Foundation, Fútbol con Corazón will renovate a sports field in Nueva Colonia and create new facilities, including changing rooms, water points, community spaces, stands and solar panels.

Designed as a safe and inclusive space for the community, the field will benefit 200 children and young people directly, while also involving their families.

Football as a driver of education, inclusion and personal development

The partnership will also support the development of football schools offering weekly training sessions focused on personal development and psychosocial well-being.

Sports tournaments will be organized to strengthen team spirit and social cohesion. In addition, five young people from the community will be trained as sports educators, helping ensure the long-term impact of the project while creating local employment opportunities.

Sport as part of the CMA CGM Foundation's commitment to education

The CMA CGM Foundation supports educational projects worldwide that include sport as a tool for learning, inclusion and personal development. Together with local partners, it renovates sports facilities, develops football and swimming programs, and supports activities that encourage teamwork, self-confidence and community engagement. 

These initiatives are implemented in France and internationally, including in Marseille, Kenya, Brazil and India, reflecting the Foundation's commitment to supporting children and young people through education and sports.

CMA CGM Group, more than 20 years of presence in Colombia
