José Gonzalo

José Gonzalo graduated from Sciences Po Paris and Université Paris Dauphine. He has 27 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions. He began his career in the M&A department of Compagnie Financière Rothschild, before joining the Orange group, where he held several senior positions both in subsidiaries and at headquarters. During this period, he successfully led the IPO of the group’s Internet branch, Wanadoo, and became Head of Corporate Development and Mergers & Acquisitions.

He then joined Capgemini in 2009 as Head of M&A. José Gonzalo joined Bpifrance in 2014 as manager of the ETI 2020 fund within the Mid & Large Cap Executive Directorate, which he led from October 2016 to September 2018. In this capacity, he oversaw investment transactions including Eren, Quadran, Algonquin, Inseec, Medipole, Les Petits Chaperons Rouges, as well as the acquisition of the French State Shareholding Agency’s (APE) stake in PSA.

José Gonzalo is Executive Director of Direct Investment in Small, Medium and Large Companies of Bpifrance, with a portfolio representing 30 billion euros representing a portfolio of more than 650 companies in assets management.
