2018 Call for Proposals: “Promote equal opportunities for children coming from underprivileged backgrounds”

In 2018, the CMA CGM Foundation selected 16 associations for its prize in France and Lebanon out of 180 projects received following its call for proposals, representing a total of 220,300 euros in financial aid.

In France

  • IMAJE Santé to improve its reception areas and the psychological support of isolated minors in the street or placed by the child social services: « Aide Sociale à L’Enfance’
  • APIS to purchase musical instruments for its social support program « Harmonie Cités » based on collective music learning through an orchestra.
  • Les Apprentis d’Auteuil to create a green rooftop at the Maison des Familles, a reception, meeting and exchanges venue for children and parents.
  • Fraternité Belle de Mai to create and equip a multi-activity ground, a project initiated and developed by secondary school children from the Belle de Mai neighborhood.
  • SCO Ste Marguerite to purchase equipment for athletic activities in order to encourage talent detection and access to sports for children in sensitive areas through the program “L’Ecole des Pointes”
  • ANEF to renovate and equip a kitchen and laundry room in a foster institution for teenagers in severe difficulty.
  • Association Sportive et Culturelle La Castellane to purchase a minibus that will allow children of the neighborhood to access a diverse range of leisure activities.  
  • Coup de Pouce to buy packages including playful and educative material for young children to learn how to read in order to prevent premature school dropout.
  • Centre Social de Culture Ouvrière to buy and equip a minibus to serve as a mobile annex at the Sainte Marthe Social Center.
  • L’institut Télémaque to finance scholarships for 5 secondary school high potential pupils from priority areas – a project which includes in-business tutoring and support from an educational referent.

In Lebanon

  • Société Saint Vincent de Paul to renovate and modernize their library and turn it into a documentation center.
  • ASSABIL to purchase tablets, electronic books and educational software for digital learning in public libraries and on the association’s library buses (Kotobus)
  • Association Dar Al Amal to buy laptops and tablets to allow vulnerable children and young people who do not have access to education to benefit from digital tools.   
  • Centre Mar Semaan to equip a library room in a boarding house that accommodates 90 young people with social and familial difficulties.  
  • Center for Development Democracy and Governance to renovate several study rooms in a Tripoli orphanage for 120 children.
  • Annas Linnas to buy a school bus to allow children of Syrian children refugees based in the region to go to school and participate in leisure and sports activities. The bus will also be used to distribute food aid.
